When you use your Windows 10 PC, you may encounter this error that says “Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We’re just collecting some error info, and then we’ll restart for you.” What should you do now? Don’t worry. Let us help you.

First of all, you need to open the sfclogs.txt file to determine which are the corrupted files as well as find where they belong. You can do this by doing a simple file search or using a search engine to get more details. Now, all you need to do is following the steps below. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Launch the Power User menu by using the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut and then choose Command Prompt (Admin).

Step 2: Take ownership of the corrupted system file. In the Command Prompt, you type the following command and hit Enter: takeown /f C:Path-and-File-Name

Note: You need to replace C:Path-and-File-Name with the path and name of the corrupted file.

Step 3: Use the “icacls C:Path-and-File-Name /Grant Administrators:F” command and hit Enter to allow full admin access to the corrupted file

You can  repair system files manually on Windows 10.

Step 4: Use the command below and hit Enter to replace the file in question with a good copy
copy:
C:Path-SOURCE-and-File-Name C:Path-DESTINATION-and-File-Name

Note: You have to replace C:Path-SOURCE-and-File-Name with the source path and file name of the known good file. Besides, you alos have to replace C:Path-DESTINATION-and-File-Name with the destination path and name of the damaged file.

Step 5: Type Yes and hit Enter to confirm the overwrite.

That’s it. Now you can type SFC /verifyonly command and hit Enter in Command Prompt to verify the integrity of all the system files to see whether the problem has been fixed. If you have any problems, please feel free to give your comment below.
