The users can use the Microsoft account or the local account to log in Windows 10. If you use a local account, Windows 10 will show you your username and the account on the screen for you to log in by entering the password exactly. Similarly, if you use a Microsoft account, it will display your email and account on the Login screen. The default settings make it easier to log in to Windows by displaying the username or email address (Microsoft account) on the login screen and you do not need to remember usernames or email address. But if you’re really serious about safety, you should hide your email address, username or Microsoft account from login screen.

Interfere to the Registry

With this method you should set a recovery point which can helps you in case there are some errors happen.

In the search box in the Start menu or taskbar, type the keyword “regedit” -> Press Enter to access the Registry Editor window ( if the UAC dialog appears, click Yes ).

In the ” Regedit Editor” window, navigate following this link: 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Policies System

Find the “dontdisplaylastusername”

Then in the right window, find a property named  “dontdisplaylastusername” and double click on it, then change the “Value data” from 0 to 1 -> Click “OK” to save the settings.

Click “OK” to save the settings

Still in that window, you right-click -> Select New -> Click the ” DWORD (32 – bit) Value” and name the attribute ” DontDisplayLockedUserID “.

Name the attribute “DontDisplayLockedUserID “.

Double-click on “DisplayLockedUserID “ and change the ” Value data ” from 0 to 3.
